Springbrook National Park, Natural Bridge, Canyon Lookout, MEC Cafe

Shall we go for the (1)World Heritage Rainforests of Springbrook National Park with Natural Bridge, or (2) Tamborine National Park with Rainforest Skywalk? Both we get to visit Glow worm cave.

You make a guess....

Early morning, on the way, we drop by MEC Cafe (Groupon offer) for breakfast, take and go!

8 mins from our Hi-Surf apartment

Simple Fast food style Cafe. One man operation when i am there.
Neat and clean, like someone house.

My Lamb Wrap was super delicious even after many hours outside!

"Springbrook is a world heritage listed national park. The cool forests, mountain streams, gorges and waterfalls offer you a glimpse of what our natural world was like thousands of years ago. About 80% of the plants and flowers are only found in the Australian rainforest. Springbrook Mountain had it’s origins many millions of years ago. It is a small and special place.
Springbrook Mountain is part of the ancient Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. It is home to an amazing variety of wildlife from the rare Albert’s Lyrebird (only found in Springbrook) to rosellas and bowerbirds. From the majesty of ancient beech trees to canopies of spreading ferns, here you can relax in the heart of a protected rainforest, wonder at the stars glimmering in the clear sky and visit colonies of glow-worms. It is a slice of serene paradise set in the Gold Coast hinterland (Australia) just 45 minutes from the bright lights of Surfers Paradise and 1.5 hours from Brisbane.
Any time of the year is a good time to visit Springbrook Mountain. During the Australian summer (Nov-Feb) you can escape from the heat of the coastal areas and enjoy the cool mountain air. At 1,000m the temperature is noticeably cooler.
During the winter months (June to September), walking is very pleasant and the sky is a magnificent blue. In the evenings you can snuggle up to a warm wood fire."

It's about 31 mins from MEC cafe.

On the way, drop by supermarket to pack drink and bread/snack.
Do i need insect repellent? Better get one as i am Blood group A.

Finally, we are here.
Start off by collecting more info at the Springbrook Mountain Visitor Centre.

There are *5 listed MUST see "Lookout" on the tourist map. I have visited 4 of them.
Catch them here! The first Lookout we went will be *Purling Brook Falls. By the way, we drove around on the mountain to search for them. Don't have to walk very long distance.

Enjoy the peace, the air, the mist, the nature sound...

The route was simple.

*2nd Lookout, The Canyon Lookout.
A Rosella Cafe and retreat lodging nearby which i did not capture. Look at above map.

*3rd Lookout, The Best of All Lookout. Let see is it really the BEST.

Admiring the beautiful 3D "Natural Painted Art"

Back to the Y junction, stop by and enjoy their Soft Fudge/Ice-cream.

Oh... pretty rainbow painted across!

*4th lookout, Wunburra Lookout.
Beautiful sky comes free with beautiful smiles!

Trying hard to fly!!!

Way down mountain to search for another tourist hotspot - Natural Bridge

Where is the bridge? Can we cross? Is it high up? Why so famous?

Worms that glow?

OMG! This is the Natural Bridge! Look like a bridge.

Have to wait for the sky dark if wanna see those worm glow.
Many tourists started to arrive when sky turned darker.
Phone camera could not capture well. Anyway we went off before completely dark as
we forgot to bring along torchlight.
No street light on the way back. Need to on and off high beam headlight.
