Transport Bus to Fairy Wind Cave, Bau town, Mirage Spa Saigon Vietanmese Cuisine

Should we took easier way out (taxi) to the Cave attractions?
We decided to explore and wave for public bus. I better warned you, it's not a piece of cake, but entertaining and well worth the experience.
Caves tour 830am to 130pm. RM100 per person, include transportation/entrance fee/Guided tour.
Pick up at hotel.

Board the bus (terminal) at Jalan Masjid which i have circle (map) to the town "Bau"

It about an hour ride by bus and cost RM4.50.
You will passed by few towns and be involved with their local residents. It reminded me of days
when i joined parents to wet market and breakfast on a Sunday.
The bus brought us "back to the future".
Non-aircon, rock and rumble as the bus travel.
Window pushed down and wind brush against my hair..

After about 15mins, bus reached Boulevard Shopping Mall.

Another 10 mins, we hit Kuching Sentral Bus terminal, which was very near to airport

7 Mile Wet Market - Old aunty and uncle carrying their market stuffs up the bus.
While some alighting to join the crowd.

There was a small village we passed through with shop houses on both sides. The bus stopped for
passenger to alight and you can see all eyes from shops landed on this bus. It's like someone
from aboard coming back home.

This Bau town terminal. The bus end here and we will have to catch another bus to fairy Cave.

The friendly and helpful lady sitting at the corner provided me with this essential info.
So we shall catch the 1030am bus. Journey about 15mins.

There more than enough time for us to enjoy local market and our breakfast with the local.

Is this the famous Sarawak Pineapples!

Breakfast will again be the yummy Kolo Mee.

Conductor cum driver collecting the fare (RM1.40)

Fortunately, we told the driver we are going to alight at Fairy Cave. Did not expect we
be getting down at this junction and only two of us.

With no idea where is the cave, only a sign showing us this direction.
GPS comes in handy at this moment. It's an awesome invention!

That's it! The main entrance. Here we go......

*Warning - have to climb up 165 steps to start journey to the Cave.

After 165 steps, you be here.

Can you see them at the other end? Now you can visualize how gigantic the cave.

One who sees the light, also sees the darkness

Fairy Cave is definitely more interesting than Wind Cave

I was so fortunate to have let this uncle cross my life. I asked for a pool and he gave
me a sea. He gave us a ride to Wind Cave and dropped us back to Bau.
If not, our journey from the Fairy Cave back may not be that smooth.

Many enjoying a dip in a hot weather at Wind Cave.

Gosh! Who's sexy legs?

There is this lake about 15mins walk away from Bau Bus Terminal.

After a long day out walking, it's rest and relax evening to try TripAdvisor
recommended - Mirage Spa.

Dinner was with Vietnamese Cuisine - Saigon Fusion, near our Ranee Suites
Must try, all dishes we ordered were awesome, especially fried Spring Rolls.

  1. I was at Bau Fairy Cave and Wind Cave just this Sunday that passed. Didn't read your blog before I go or it would have helped a lot. Anyway, I took the same bus no. 2 to Bau but I started out too late so I missed the connecting bus at the Bau Bus terminal going to either cave. I reached there about 12:50pm. Checked with the bus terminal lady, apparently there is no more buses going to the fairy cave and for the wind cave, even if I catch the next bus out, I will have problem coming back. So the suggestion is that I get a taxi, which I did. Cost me RM100 to go to both caves plus the trip back to Kuching. (I should add that the bus terminal lady told me that the last bus from Bau back to Kuching is at 3:40pm the day I was there instead of 6pm as stated by some websites. Apparently, the bus service timing may changed without notice so do take note)
