Standard Chartered Marathon 42.195km Singapore 2016

One of my bucket list is to experience one of the most challenging physical activities, providing extreme mental and physical challenges - Marathon 42.195km.

I am not going for top few runners to complete, so i thought don't have to train for months. My regular exercises like yoga fitness, hot yoga, and once a week 4 km jog, should be enough for the challenge.  After heard from few friends who experienced Marathon warned to train for it, i went for one 10 km and one 21 km weeks before the race. Indeed i was quite nervous few days before the Marathon. I read up what i should eat and be prepared.

 We chose Pen F


 There were more than 40,000 runners on that day. Everyone spirit was light up, even though
we have to be awake and reached 4:30 am

Good to know if you are also new to the Marathon. 
1. It's not compulsory to wear the provided goody pack singlet (the green one we wearing)
2. We can wear and run with mobile phone and earpiece.
3. No registration on that day. We just wear the number tag and proceed to respective point.
4. There are systems that will detect and scan your number tag code when you passed their entries. (So don't try to cheat. Anyway it's the experience of 42 km you want right?)
5. Wear a comfortable and good running shoes. My foot aches maybe of the shoes.
6. There are more than enough water points so don't have to carry water bottles. Bananas and energy packets were given on my run.
7. I took sweet potatoes on the morning, which suppose to be good carbo that digest slower, for energy. 
8. Release yourself before you come as toilet will be congested. 
9. Muscle lotion was provided by volunteers along the way if you need them. 
10. Many started to walk especially after 15 km. 
11. Marathon T-shirt and badge will be given at ending point where you completed the race. 
12. *Remember to apply Sunblock. 

 Starting point at Orchard road so you can see those Xmas light up.

You are suppose to choose your category when registering at collection of goodie bag.

I was jogging so photo was blurred. 

 Reaching 40 km was one of the morale booster. Come on!!!! 2.195 km more....
The weather was so damn hot! Face burning!

You will be snap especially during ending point,, so remember to smile and pose.

 Overcoming challenges and then completing the run makes it all worthwhile. 
Crossing the marathon finish line is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding personal experiences i can have. One toughest bucket list down! Hooray!!!!

 So shiok! It's tough but all was over! Time for a rewarding lunch!
