Mountain Usu Volcano, Usuzan Ropeway, Showa Shinzan, Panoramic View

Mountain Usu was about 737 meter high active Volcano at south of Lake Toya. It has been certified as a Japanese Geopark in recognition of its status as a natural park blessed with outstanding geological heritage. This mountain is one of the most active Volcanoes, with repeated eruptions on a cycle of between 20 to 50 years. The last was 2000 (now 2017).

On the way....

10 mins drive to Usuzan Ropeway

Showa Shinzan is a relatively new mountain formed by 2 years of volcanic activity.
I could see it still venting fumes

We parked our car here. Able find her? Remembered...it's black?

Usuzan ropeway will bring us to the upper observation deck, closer to Volcano submit.

Submit temperature much lower so be well prepared.

100 seater gondola take about 6 mins to reach top. Showa Shinzan station
1500 yen round trip

How could you missed this mountain/volcano when you here in Hokkaido!

Panoramic view of Lake Toya around the observation deck

These bright Orange waterproof coats were provided on the awesome submit.

You could try sliding down the snow

Walking to view Usuzan Crater
Doing some yoga poses to keep warm

This fellow could pose well.
