Cycling at Taiwan Dadaocheng Wharf near Daqiaotou train station

Alight at Daqiaotou train station and walk towards the river, as shown below map.

As it was not planned, i did not check detail for location to rent bicycle. I asked for direction from many cyclists along Tamsui River. We have a wonderful stroll and treated at our warm up.

You can see beautiful art work on the long huge wall.

This the place to rent bicycle - Dadaocheng Wharf.

You may be interested to know brief history of this Wharf.
"Dadaocheng was originally settled by Pingpu people that migrated there after a fierce fight with settlers in Mengjia (current day Wanhua District) from Tongan in Fujian Province. Over the years, Dadaocheng developed with shops and homes rising up along the Tamsui River. After Tamsui Port opened, Dadaocheng became the main entrepot in Taipei under the administration of Liu Ming-chuan. Yanping North Road and Guide Street were at the center of commercial activity in the district, and tea and cloth were the main items traded during this colorful and memorable time of years past in Dadaocheng. In recent years, Dadaocheng Wharf has hosted major fireworks festivals. There is also a bikeway by the wharf for riverside cycling in scenic and historic Dadaocheng." (From Taiwan.net.tw)
Awesome place to cycle, especially when not too hot and breezy. Flowers scattered on one side and the other is beautiful river. It always joy to the eyes when you see many fellow cyclists together along the way. It build up our spirit and won't feel as tired.
Cycle further ahead, you will see a different landscape. The scenery of peaceful mountain and old wooden boat. Like i have just cycle across century.
