The Cruise i took was Legacy Cruise. I will share with you why i choose this later. But first, it will be better you have an idea how Halong look and around her to appreciate better.

Bai Tu Long Bay is the name of an area located in the east of Halong Bay Vietnam.
Picture speak a thousand words. I have circle them. The arrow pointing to my cruise dock. Most of the cruise visited Halong Bay, but this one choose to avoid the crowd and cruise to Bai Tu Long Bay.
This Van fetch us from our hotel. There are a total of 15 to stay on the cruise but some will be waiting at Halong Bay. A tour guide had been assign for us. The journey was long about 3.5hours with short break in between (30mins). Seats were well space out so quite comfortable the journey (better than tigerAir seat).
We board this... i will call him boat. It job was to bring us to the cruise which not far away. Maybe slightly further than what you can throw. Why so troublesome? Provide job? Maybe it quicker as many cruises waiting.
Legacy is cruising......
Looking out from my room (oh should be cabin) window.... like a portrait right? How life would be staying on board for a year? Like those on the floating market. Life be simple! What you think?
Bathroom was simple and clean. Simple - what should have, you can find them. There was a moment when water supply stopped. This what happen.... (RA)

But i do not think i will stay 1 year sleeping on this bed. It's worse than my army days, sleeping on the field/grass, but better because there are no enemies. (This enemy carry gun on it nose). This bed is too concrete.
Meals provided are filling and nice. Some are yummy which are new to me. These fries are sweet potato, awesome! The other green fries are cucumber - much effort and presentation.
These fries but not fries till now i still dont know what vege is that. Anyway i don't like the taste.

Why i choose this cruise out from so many agents? Leave to FATE. It add spice to my trip. A stone left for me to overturn. I read so many reviews from so many websites. The more i check the further i lost. My trip is free and easy: FREE to go anywhere and EASY, just take it easy, don't stress over it. So i decide to check out when i am at Hanoi.
Maybe cheaper to book there?
I did not check many places at Hanoi for best price. Furthermore, price should not be the only consideration when we are oversea. Reputation and Safety is important as well.
Maybe can know more to decide?
Ha long Bay still a must go tourist spot for northern Vietnam. My suggestion is stay at least a night on board to experience it, be it an enjoyable or lousy one. It's the experience that been drop to your memory! This could be once a lifetime thing.
Maybe i go somewhere else?
Yes, i can go Sapa or Ninh Binh. But i didn't. My focus is relax and take it easy. Hanoi to Sapa by train take about 8 hours and to Ninh Binh about 2.5hours.
Finally, i decide to go cruising Ha Long Bay. I took up the package by my hotel. Their hotel service is good and many good reviews online. Price was about there. Remember? Take it easy :D
Now i can share with you things to know/ask:
1. Budget - don't need choose too expensive since just a night. Can have the mindset to experience and enjoy the process. Take it easy! Sometime a rug can be a gem to others. (Did i mention my cruise cost US$145 include hotel transfer to and fro)
2. Limit Air condition usage - this cruise only can turn on after dinner. It's really hot during my first day and the cabin resemble a sauna.
3. Food avail on cruise - if you prefer or cannot consume certain food.
4. How many people on board - too many and your time can be wasted waiting (mine was 15)
5. Mineral water and other drinks will be charge on board.
6. Activities on board
7. If 3D2N, you can request to alight at Cat Ba island for the second night.
