Okay, we "sleep-till-self-awake" 自然醒. Took Metro from Ximen (blue line) interchange at Zhongxiao Fuxing (brown line) to the end station, Taipei Zoo. Stations Map (below) to assist you. I cannot remember how long the journey. Maybe 13 x 2 = 26 mins. (2 mins each station).
Maokong Gondola - view from inside metro reaching Taipei zoo station
There were many "U bike" around Taipei. You need apply for access. Find out more before you go if intend to rent.
Be there early to avoid long Q. (Top) Reached at 9:15 am.
(Below)When we came down. This Q could be longer then our time spent there. So long? Maybe slightly shorter. More Tour groups arriving.
With return trip is NT$50.
Many tea-house round along the way. You can walk up to check it out. It was cold up here. Check weather forecast and be prepared.
One of the tea-house (Below)
No intention spend too much time so we did not try their tea.
Next, we traveled to Hot Spring at "Xinbeitou". Aboard at Taipei Zoo, interchange at Daan station to the red line, then interchange at Beitou to Xinbeitou. Less than an hour ride.
F1 - A restaurant (long Q) selling Hot spring noodles.
F2 - Cheap and good local food. Also crowded.
1. The public library - shape of the structure like a ship.
2. You should try their public hot spring. Don't worry, no need to be naked. Must wear swim attire. Not allow to sit at side and dip your foots. Bring along towel for bathing. Note that you not allow to use towel in the pool. There are 5 different pools with different temperature. The hottest at the top and 2 ice cold pools. The hottest is extremely hot, almost cook your "eggs".
3. Walk further up to the thermal valley (below)
