Alexander PCN at Zion road across Clarke Quay to Esplanade and New Jubilee Bridge

The new underground cross under Zion road and Kim Seng Road from Alexander Park Connector Network (PCN) is ready for cyclists. Let's see where can we go from here.

Starting point at opposite Zion Food Centre. Above is the underground.
Do be careful of the huge hump at both end of it.
On the left of Map at point 1

Near Map pt2, there is this Water-Taxi, just before the artistic bridge.

Jiak Kim Bridge builded in 1999
"Tan Jiak Kim was the grandson of Tan Kim Seng and eldest son of Tan Beng Swee. He took over the family business, Kim Seng & Co., after his father passed away. He was the longest serving Chinese member in the Legislative Council, and was elected Municipal Commissioner from 1888 to 1892, and 1894 to 1897. His contributions to society included a donation of $12,000 to the formation of the Straits and Federated Malay States Government Medical School in 1905."

(Map pt3) Singapore River Cruise station.

(Map pt4) Italian Restaurant near Robertson Quay - Limoncello

Further up from map pt4, there are many restaurants line up "not" for you.
Cycle to see, not to eat : )

Miramar Hotel is just stone throw away near Pulau Saigon Bridge (re-build 1997)
In between Map pt 4 & 5.

Don't worry, BMW cyclist did not anyhow "release" himself

(Map pt5) Alkaff Bridge (build in 1999) is one of the most colorful one.
More than 50 colors. Don't believe, then take your time to count.

(Map pt 6) Clemenceau Bridge (build 1920)
"Clemenceau Bridge was built at the same time as Clemenceau Avenue. Both are named after Monsieur Georges Clemenceau, the PM of France who visited Singapore in 1920 and marked the foundation of Clemenceau Avenue"
Keep right and cross the bridge by underground provided

Traditional Bumboat taxi can carry up to 45 passengers

Heading toward Liang Court and Clarke Quay.

(Map pt 7) ORD Bridge (build in 1886) *Not stand for army ORD
"Named after Colonel Sir Harry St. George Ord, British Governor of the Straits Settlements, Ord Bridge is a pedestrian bridge with rectangular steel trusses on either side."
Construction work now for Fort Canning Mrt station may re-position this bridge. You need to carry your bike up few steps to cross over. Or you may choose straight ahead cutting through Clarke Quay (pushing your bike).

(Map pt 8) Read Bridge (build 1889)
"The construction of Read Bridge was initiated by William Henry Macleod Read, a Scottish businessman who was also the Consul for Holland. He laid the first cylinder for the bridge"

Everything (including me) so colourful

Who say you cannot Suntan in the city? No beach but you have river!
(Map pt 9) It's time to cross bridge again - Coleman bridge (re-build 1990) from brick structure to timber to iron and lastly now concrete.

Salute to our Singapore flag before we start to PUSH our bike across. Sorry he don't know how to salute so give a thumb-up. I will send him back to army again.

Coming close to Esplanade.

One of Singapore Top rated 5* hotel - Fullerton Hotel. Does it look like museum?

Standing at Cavenagh Bridge (build 1869, is oldest bridge) over looking at
Anderson Bridge (build in 1910). During the Japanese Occupation, the Japanese hung severed heads of criminals along the bridge as a warning to the locals.
After cross Cavenagh bridge, turn right and we will cross Anderson bridge,

Here comes our Esplanade bridge (build 1994)

Finally we have reached our new Jubilee bridge (build 2015 to commemorate SG50)
with awesome skyline of our Marina centre. On the left our Esplanade "durian". Our Helix bridge and Marina Bay Sand hotel & Casino in the centre. The right is our Marina financial Centre.
Not forgetting our beloved "Merlion" who is kind enough to provide me "LionWater"

Back to opposite Great World City - Zion Food Court.
