Jul 2016, free and easy trip to Sarawak capital city - Kuching. The name "Kuching" in Malay mean Cat. Most probably it name was given because of "Mata Kuching" - Cat's eye fruit (cousin of Longan) which grow widely there. The population about 650,000. Mostly Malay and Chinese.
We arrived at Kuching International Airport late morning. After check-out, turn right, you can see Old Town White Coffee Restaurant, Money Changer & information counter (photo above)
To your left, Mc Donald and Secret Recipe.
There is also Digi mobile service where you can purchase your connection.
The only transport to hotel is Taxi at the airport.
Airport to our hotel (Grand Margherita) cost RM26, distance 10.3 km and travel about 20 mins.
Purchase the ticket at the counter (below).
Alternatively, you can drag your luggage to Kuching Sentral (15 mins away) to catch a bus.
I not sure in the interchange are there bus to Kuching City. But outside (point B), you can
catch one or two at the bus stop.
