Lake Toya southwestern part of Hokkaido during winter

Lake Toya, which is situated in the southwestern part of Hokkaido, belongs to Shikotsu Toya National Park. It is a place where four distinct seasons can be enjoyed. An area full of water, volcanoes and forests that rich with elements of nature. A gigantic eruotion create Toya caldera and surrounding plateau. It about 50 km around the perimeter of the lake.

Volcanic domes (Nakajima) and Usu Volcano were born later. These geological evolution offered beautiful scenery.

Enjoying the fast-walk (winter very cold) along this Promenade. 




The G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit was held here in 2008. 
Many from all over the world gather to exchange world view on the global environment
 and climate change. Monument to mark the declaration of 2008 G8 summit. But i don't know
which was the one. Maybe you can share with me?
