Map of Noboribetsu
Jigoku-Dani was given the name Hell Valley because of their countless steaming geysers,
hot spring and blowholes. The valley was formed in an explosion crater from eruption of Mount Kuttara ages ago. It has a diameter of 450 m that encompasses an 11 hectare area.
I simply loved this natural environment.
Mount Hiyori and Oyunuma view point.
Natural spring water are piped to many hotels around.
Tessen-lke, a geyser located in the center of Jigoku-Dani and can take close look
of it's boiling and steaming.
Oni-Bokora - A praying demon statue, which is believed to originate in Edoera,
is enshrined. These 3.5 m standing red demon and 2.2 m blue seated one were both
popular photo spot.
These are actually good demon that pray for fortunes of people and
take away their bad luck.
At Sengen Park, this was a geyser erupting by the hot spring from Jigoku-Dani.
Every 3 hours, will get to enjoy a cloud of steam and roars.
How was i doing for this yoga-pose?
Rest and relax moment
Okay.... please stepped back and not peep in
There were lockers around but may not be that big for bigger bags.
